The first solution is liquid dish detergent solution (one drop of Original Blue Dawn to 2 cups of warm water) The second one is white distilled vinegar mixed with warm (not hot) water mixed 50/50. This should instantly and completely remove a carpet grease stain. Depending on how bad it is you may wish to cover the spot with salt or baking soda or corn starch in a pinch, to help draw it from the carpet. Leave it for an hour or so, then vacuum the area thoroughly. Then, gently work detergent solution into the area, working from the outside in. Blot, never rub, with a white terry cloth towel. Follow up with the rinse of vinegar and water solution. Repeat if necessary, being sure not to over wet the carpet. When complete, place another white terry cloth towel over the damp area, place a plastic bag over the towel and put a heavy book on top and leave overnight.
